Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes on mixed arithmetic operations material using a problem-based learning model. The research was conducted at MI Ma'arif Jekeling.The research subjects were 13 students of class VI MI Ma'arif Jekeling. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The flow of each cycle carried out is planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used included observation sheets, interview guides, field notes, documentation, and final tests in each cycle. The results of the study show that applying the PBL model steps can improve student learning outcomes. This is consistent with the affective average value in cycle I of 76.73% and cycle II of 80.77% and an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 4.04%. The average psychomotor value of cycle I was 69.81% and cycle II was 75.58% and an increase from cycle I to cycle II was 5.77%. The average cognitive score of students in cycle I was 67.31, then cycle II increased to 76.54, thus there was an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 9.23.
